How to Become Verified

Tiered status is currently a work on process. We will update verified members once new content is available.

Verified members are individuals that have proven longstanding interest in beneficially growing the Stellar ecosystem. Depending on the tier, they have a unique presence in the community, as well as exclusive benefits and opportunities including:

🗳 | Review and vote on which projects they'd like to see grow in the ecosystem during each SCF Awards Round.

👩‍⚖️ | Participate in governance and weigh in on proposals to grow the structure of the SCF.

How to Get Verified

Tier 0 - Verified

As your first entry into being SCF verified, get exclusive access to the #verified-members channel to keep up to date with SCF round, influence governance and structure updates, and more. Claim the SCF Verified role on Discord by filling out the following form: communityfund.stellar.org/tiers

Tier 1 - Pathfinder

Pathfinders are eligible to participate in Community Vote to signal award allocation of SCF projects through delegation to Navigators and Pilots.

Make sure to meet the following criteria, and claim the SCF Pathfinder role on Discord by updating your information on: communityfund.stellar.org/tiers.

Please note: the Pathfinder role is now automated, but if you have recently acquired the above badges, it may take a few days for the update to have effect as we use a weekly snapshot for badge updates. If you meet the above requirements for the pathfinder role, just check back in on Discord after a few days to a week, if it has updated your role and if not, send a message tagging 'ankeliu' in #scf-general.

Tier 2 - Navigator

Navigators are able to vote directly for projects, attend Monthly Structure Discussions, and more. The SCF Navigator role on Discord is granted when Pathfinders:

Tier 3 - Pilot

Pilots gain the ability to become part of compensated selection panel to review and select Activation Award Submisisons, and vote for governance proposals. The SCF Pilot role on Discord is granted when Navigators:

Special roles

🗳️ | Voter

Someone who has Navigator or Pilot status and does not have a project out for community vote.

🧠 | Startup Camp Expert

Answers questions upon request based on their area of expertise to support participating teams in an SCF Startup Camp.

🤝 | Startup Camp Facilitator

Guides participating teams through an SCF Startup Camp. These are (mostly, if not all) members of DFS Lab.

🌟 | Startup Camp Participant

A representative of a team scheduled to participate or currently participating in an SCF Startup Camp.

👮‍♀️ | Mod

Drives conversations along and keeps an eye out for trouble to keep the server a fair and safe space for interaction. Is able to warn, time out, and ban members who do not follow the Discord rules.

👑 | Admin and Server Owner

SDF employee and holds the keys to the Discord server. Server owner also holds the keys to the overall SCF process.

Important Notes:

  • Employees from the Stellar Development Foundation are exempted from the above prerequisites, as well as special occasions (only to be proposed by Pilots and which need a minimum quorum of votes from three Pilots to pass, without any serious concerns outstanding).

  • No more than two people of the same (SCF) project built on Stellar and/or Soroban can become Navigators or Pilots. This is to promote a diverse composition of the panel.

  • Navigators or Pilots need the @Voter role to be able to vote. This is updated every four weeks, and granted as long as they don’t have their own project out for community vote.

  • Navigator & Pilot status doesn’t last forever.

    • You’ll receive one or more warnings first, but you’ll be removed from your current role if:

      • Your activity rates drop (e.g., you haven’t voted in three rounds consecutively, don’t engage much on Discord, don’t show up for structure meetings) [INACTIVITY]

      • Spam channels, begging, FUD, or post speculative, trading-type messages [UNDESIRED CONTENT]

      • Your engagement towards other members is unconstructive and without good intent [UNDESIRED ENGAGEMENT]

      • [for Pilots only] If your reviews (continue to) misalign with the majority of the Selection panel due to bias or intent [MISALIGNMENT]

      • You may be automatically removed of all roles, and depending on severity, possibly banned from the server forever, for harassment, toxicity, hate speech, NSFW stuff [BANNABLE BEHAVIOR]

    • In most cases, a warning is sufficient. Make sure to comply with the rules and be cool. Don’t forget that usernames on Discord are humans with feelings too. Learn more in the overall Stellar Developer Discord rules and guidelines.

*if you already have any other Tier role, you will not receive the Verified or Pathfinder role as you already have access.
