๐Ÿ“œDiscord Rules & Guidelines

Discord can sometimes be seen as a place where 'anonymous' people can discuss whatever they like. However, every username on Discord is a real person (except for bots, of course) with feelings so be mindful with your interaction and adhere to the rules and guidelines below.

  1. No harassment, toxicity, hate speech, repeated mentions, or doxxing. Be cool to each other. Trolling and harassment will result in a ban.

  2. No NSFW stuff. This includes usernames, profile pictures, and status messages.

  3. This is not the place for trading, negotiating, advertising, spamming, or begging for any type of goods or services unless it involves a past, present, or potentially future SCF round. In all cases, make sure to avoid spamming and begging.

  4. Don't post misinformation.

  5. Use the project channels for those projects during active SCF rounds. Learn more about channels here.

  6. This Discord server is for the Stellar Community Fund-related projects only. For all developer talk, join the Stellar Developers Discord. Find more servers here.

Members with a @Mod or @Admin role have the authority to enforce these rules to maintain a safe and healthy server and can ban members who violate the rules. If they contact you because of your behavior, please follow their recommendations.

Discord tips for project submitters:

๐Ÿคธโ€โ™€๏ธ | Be active on your project channel during the SCF round

Many voters will shy away from a project if they see unanswered questions posted on a projectโ€™s channel with no activity from the project submitter. Also, visit other project channels and talk to them about their projects. This will increase the visibility of your project across the server.

๐Ÿ™Œ | Promote yourself in the dedicated channels

Don't advertise or post promotional messages about your project in #โ˜• โ”‚ general, #โ”‚ support, or any individual channel that isn't yours. Instead, you can feature your project in #โšก โ”‚ project-announcements and your individual channel if you have one.

Include your project name in your user nickname, about me, or a custom status so the community can recognize you. Check out the beginner's guide for instructions on how to do this.

๐Ÿ™ | Be genuine and considerate

There isnโ€™t much benefit to inviting your own community to the SCF Discord server to show support for your project unless they are genuinely interested in supporting the Stellar ecosystem as a whole.

Also, donโ€™t create sock puppet accounts to hold conversations about your project. Current SCF voters highly value organic communication.

Donโ€™t FUD other projects with speculation. If you have a serious concern about vulnerabilities or issues with a project, we strongly encourage you to reach out privately to the project owner to see if there is an explanation or reasoning that may resolve any concerns.
